Shreveport Texarkana, LA, October 18, 2026 —
A new AP-NORC/AAPI Data poll finds that Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander adults are showing increased disillusionment with President Trump and Republicans as midterm elections approach. The poll also indicates that Democrats have gained an advantage among these adults on issues including the economy and healthcare.
The findings point to a shift in political sentiment within the population covered by the poll, but the information available does not specify how large that shift is or how it compares with earlier results. It also does not provide the poll’s field dates, sample size, margin of error or the exact questions asked.
The reported advantage for Democrats is limited to the economy and healthcare in the summary of the findings. No figures are provided to show the size of that advantage, and the available information does not identify other issues on which respondents were asked to assess the parties.
The poll’s results offer a snapshot of views among Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander adults ahead of the midterms. The summary does not include details on how respondents’ views differ by age, geography or other characteristics, or whether the findings represent all eligible voters in those communities.
Further details about the poll’s methodology, timing and numerical results were not provided. Without those details, the extent and specific sources of the reported disillusionment cannot be determined from the available information.
