Roach will present at Starting and Managing Your Own Business: A Boot Camp for the Aspiring Entrepreneur on Saturday, November 14, 2026. Hosted by the Buffalo branch of SCORE Western NY, a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the full-day workshop will be held at the Women’s Business Center at Canisius University.

Designed for people dreaming of launching a business and for owners looking to strengthen a young company, the boot camp is taught by experienced business professionals. Sessions cover business planning, marketing, financial statements, legal organization, and funding sources.

For Roach, the workshop continues a long commitment to Western New York’s small business community. He has given more than 300 presentations at SBA/SCORE workshops on business start-ups since 1981, leads monthly “Strive and Thrive” start-up workshops for the Small Business Development Center at Buffalo State, and presents on business law each semester for the NYS Entrepreneurial Assistance Program. He also served on the District Director’s Advisory Council for the SBA’s Buffalo office from 1991 to 1997.

The November event also marks a return to familiar ground. Roach earned his B.A. from Canisius in 1973 and later taught business law and business ethics there from 1983 to 1991. A Harvard Law School graduate admitted in New York and Florida, he has taught American business law as a Fulbright Specialist and visiting faculty member at universities in Poland and Italy.
